A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Laura, and I’m going to help you to make your life better.

Bold claim? Maybe, but I am confident that with the right mix of focus and support you really can have the life you have imagined, a life free from unnecessary fear, anxiety and self-doubt, a life filled with the confidence that enables you to overcome obstacles, achieve your goals and realise your innate potential. I can provide the coaching and therapy – you just need to bring the focus, and a real desire to see positive change in your life!

As an experienced leader in a global blue-chip organisation, I have spent the last two decades learning how to succeed and add value in a corporate environment through a wide range of roles that had one thing in common – the need to drive change whilst developing teams and helping colleagues to become the very best they can be.

With qualifications in Lean/Six Sigma, Global Business Services, Learning & Development, Management and Business Studies I had always anticipated that I would continue up the corporate ladder, developing my career as a process/change management professional. Then, in 2017, everything changed.

In August 2017, I lost my amazing Mum, Betty Dalley, after a short and aggressive period of illness due to Cancer. My Mum was an amazing woman, and her illness and death was devastating. Suddenly unable to cope, I experienced a horrific period of depression that forced me to examine what my life had become.

I’ve always experienced great success in my career, however emotionally? I was a mess. After several years of challenges due to the worry of my husbands ill health, I was stressed, anxious and unhappy. When Mum died, I realised to my shame that she had wasted a lot of time worrying about me – and whilst I couldn’t change that, I could certainly make sure that she would be proud of me now.   With that realisation, I started to reach out for the support I desperately needed to understand who I really am, and what I want from life.

In my quest to transform my life for the better I discovered hypnotherapy, and am still amazed at how it transformed the way I think. I soon realised that by combining the skills I have gained over the last 20 years, and my newfound love of hypnotherapy, I could continue my Mum’s legacy by helping other people to change their lives… and Future You Therapies was born.

I’m still a work in progress, but hey – aren’t we all?
